Steps to air fry homemade tater tots:

Nobody was surprised to learn that air-fried tater tots were superior to those prepared in the oven. They take much less time to prepare, are incredibly crispy and tasty, and are the best way to replace unhealthy deep-fried restaurant tots because there is no need to add more oil or fat to get them crispy.

Step 1:

Toss frozen hash browns into the mixer. Blend thoroughly till soft.

Step 2:

Place hash browns in a large bowl, then add olive oil, flour, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well with a spatula until combined. After wetting your hands, take a small amount of the mixture with a spoon and begin forming the tater tots by pressing them in your palm into an oblong shape that is about one inch across.

Step 3:

Place the tots in a single layer, spacing them apart, and preheat your air fryer to 400. Sprinkle tater tots with cooking spray. After eight minutes, give the basket a gentle shake and cook for an additional eight minutes until browned.

Serve: Remove the air fryer tater tots from the tray and place them on a dish. Serve with ketchup, and enjoy!

How to cook frozen air fry tater tots:

If you wish to prepare already made & frozen tater sold in the grocery, follow these steps below;

Step 1: Preheat:

Set your air fryer’s temperature to 400 F for 2 minutes.

Step 2: Just one layer:

Put all of your potato chips in the basket. Arrange the tots in a single layer for the best, crispiest results. Putting them in is acceptable if you need to feed a crowd quickly, but they won’t be as crisp. Spray a lot of cooking oil on the tots.

What are tater totes?

Tater tots are little cylinders made from shredded potatoes that are deep-fried and frequently served as a side dish. They were invented in 1953 when an American Food Company called Ore-Ida attempted to come up with a use for leftover slices of diced potatoes. They hashed potato slivers, added flour, and seasoning, pressed the mash through holes, and then cut portions of the extruded mixture. Despite being a registered trademark of Ore-Ida, the phrase “Tater Tot” is frequently used as a general term to refer to the food item.

With cheese:

Grated parmesan is the best way to add a cheesy flavor to these air fry tater tots. With guacamole dip:

Guacamole would be the best addition to air-fried tater tots for those who like avocado. Here are my favorite tips to make guacamole dip: For the beginning, you will need half of a jalapeno diced finely for a lovely little kick. You should remove the rib and save the seeds from the half you will use. You can choose whether to add the roots; I generally do. For the rest ingredients, I add one tablespoon of finely diced red onion, one medium tomato (seeded and diced), and two wedges of lime. Remove the pits from two avocados after cutting them in half. Each avocado half should be cut into a crosshatch pattern. Scoop out the avocado with a spoon. Spread the lime juice evenly by squeezing lime wedges over the avocados. Smash the avocado, and add the rest ingredients with salt and pepper.

With egg:

Since potatoes are a source of good carbs, we need to add proteins to create a nourishing meal. Put a warm fried egg on top of the tots after adding Pico de Gallo, green onions, and shredded cheese. You have it now! These are just a few quick and simple ideas for serving tater tots.

With Sriracha mayo dipping sauce:

You can also prepare a simple Sriracha mayo dipping sauce to serve with air fry tater tots as a weekend snack or at your upcoming gathering. Making this irresistible sauce only takes a couple of seconds: Mix 1/2 cup mayonnaise and 1 1/2 tablespoon Sriracha hot sauce in a small bowl. Then whisk everything together until thoroughly blended to make this lovely sauce.
