How to prepare frozen pierogies?
When using an air fryer for cooking these frozen pierogies, the first thing is to spread them out evenly in the basket. To ensure equal cooking, try to prevent them from stacking or overlapping. For big amounts of pierogies, air fry them in batches.
To give the pierogies more crunch and prevent them from adhering to the basket, coat each piece on both sides using cooking oil spray, tossing, or olive oil on a brush.
After lightly covering them with olive oil, air fry them at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until they are golden and crispy, for 10 to 12 minutes. During the second half of cooking, flip them over. Serve air fryer pierogies with your favorite dip.

Ingredient for the dough:
- Flour: 2 cups
- Salt: ½ teaspoon
- Large egg: 1
- Sour cream: ½ cup

Ingredient for filling:
- Mashed potatoes: 1 cup (227g)
- Cheddar cheese: 1 cup (113g) shredded
Instructions:
- Combine the flour and salt to make the dough. Mix the flour and egg. At this point, the dough will be rather clumpy. Add the sour cream and soft butter, and mix until the mixture forms a somewhat sticky, slightly rough ball. Without adding more flour, knead and fold the dough until it becomes less sticky but is still moderately moist. Place the dough in the fridge for a minimum of 30 minutes, and you can refrigerate them for up to 48 hours after thoroughly wrapping it in plastic wrap.

- Roll out half the dough to a thickness of 1/8 and cut the dough into circles with a circular cutter. Continue by using the second half of the dough. Save the remnants, chop them into little pieces, and add them to cooking soups. Each dough round should have 1 1/2 teaspoons of filling on it. Form a pocket around the filling by gently folding the dough over. Close the pierogi’s edges by pinching them; then, use a fork’s tines to seal them once again.
- Cook them for ten to twelve minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, or until they have a golden, crispy texture, after lightly brushing them with olive oil. After half an hour of cooking, flip them over. And your air fryer pierogies are ready to serve.

How to prepare the best air fryer pierogies?
Here are some tips to make a fantastic air fryer pierogies dish:
- Keep frozen. Pierogies shouldn’t defrost before being air-fried. For the best texture, put them in right away from the freezer.
- Change the time as necessary. The amount of time it takes to cook frozen pierogies in an air fryer can vary since there are numerous air fryers. You might need to adjust the duration by 1-2 minutes.
- If you have a party and want to cook for a large group: Avoid packing the air fryer too tightly. Pierogies should be prepared in batches in the air fryer and served hot.
- There are variations among air fryers. When attempting this recipe for the first time, run a cooking time trial because wattages vary. Once they are golden and have a crisp texture, bake them for an initial 7–10 minutes and then another 2-4 minutes.
Do I need oil to make air fryer frozen pierogies?
If you genuinely don’t want to use oil, you can avoid it because most air fryer baskets are non-stick, and they have a crispier texture, in my experience, because of the oil. You can use coconut oil for a healthy air fryer pierogies meal.
